Cornish Metals Inc (AIM:CUSN, TSX-V:CUSN, OTC:SBWFF) CEO Don Turvey talked with Proactive about the company's exciting developments at Resourcing Tomorrow 2024. Turvey discussed the ongoing efforts to reopen Cornwall’s historic tin mine, which has been closed for 26 years. The South Crofty project, fully owned and permitted by Cornish Metals, features substantial existing infrastructure, including 500 kilometres of underground development and a water treatment plant that has successfully cleaned the Red River.
Turvey highlighted tin's critical role in the energy transition, particularly its use in soldering for electronics, solar panels, and EVs. He emphasised that Cornish Metals could be the first operational tin mining project in Europe and North America, contributing to responsible and localised supply chains.
The CEO also shared milestones for the company, including collaboration with Endeavor Finance for debt funding and advancing development with new plant excavation and long-lead item orders. He concluded by acknowledging the collaborative spirit among Cornish projects, aiming for collective success.
