The FTSE 100 got off on a firmer footing as bond markets also steadied after the Prime Minister confirmed Chancellor Rachel Reeves' job is secure.
An hour into the session, the blue chip index is up 44 points at 8,818, a gain of half a percent.
Looking at some of the morning's big movers. Currys PLC (LSE:CURY) is topping the FTSE 250 leaderboard after its results seem to impress with sales, profits and cashflow for the past year all meeting expectations. It's proposed a final dividend of 1.5p.
Watches of Switzerland Group PLC (LSE:WOSG) is down 4.4% after its results, which included uninspiring guidance.
Shares in Mike Ashley's Frasers Group PLC (LSE:FRAS) are up 0.5% after it arranged a mammoth £3 billion borrowing facility from its banks.
The biggest mid-cap faller is Baltic Classifieds Group PLC (LSE:BCG), down 13.5%. The owner of fourteen leading online classified ad portals in Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia reported final results this morning, with its shares having hit all-time highs in recent weeks.
