Tensions between PSA’s management and OPEL employees have intensified in recent weeks as the closure of the Eisenach plant was a threat. This has been resolved. However, whether OPEL will eventually be able to increase its car sales remains to be seen. OPEL’s European registrations fell by 5% to 945,752 in 2017 (its market share fell from 6.6% in 2016 to 6.0%) and registrations declined by another 7.2% to 322,549 in 4M18 while its market share was down from 6.3% to 5.7%.
