Ahead of the H1 15 results due on 6 August, the three largest shareholders (Haniel, Schmidt-Ruthenbeck and Beisheim) as well as the current Supervisory Board of Metro announced their backing for the succession of the Chairman, Franz Markus Haniel, who will step down at the AGM in February 2016. It will be proposed that Jürgen Steinemann, the current CEO of Barry Callebaut (the Swiss chocolate producer) will be the successor.
