According to the latest news, Siemens and Bombardier are planning a joint-venture of their railway activities. Siemens previously had tried to merge the railway business with Alstom but failed. In general, we expect the consolidation process to continue within the railway industry. We are not quite certain that a joint-venture with Bombardier will help Siemens, partly because it cannot be a 50% merger as the value of the two business divisions is unequal.
