Bayer has announced it is to sell to its competitor BASF (both covered by AlphaValue) its seed businesses for canola/oilseed rape, soybean and cotton as well as a non-selective herbicide business for an all-cash purchase price of €5.9bn. Closing is subject to the closing of the Bayer/Monsanto transaction, relevant regulatory approvals and is expected in Q1 18.
