VW believes that 75% of all vehicles sold by 2025 will continue to have combustion engines. Consequently, it intends to invest €10bn through to 2022 in the modernization of combustion engines. Simultaneously, investments for full-electric and hybrid powertrains will amount to €9bn. CEO Müller again stressed the company’s intention to continue to modernize its diesel engines and that this technology will remain a focus for the company and its customers.
