Allenby Capital - Biome Technologies FY update

In its trading update today, Biome Technologies reported a year of strong revenue growth in its Bioplastics division but a halving in revenues from the RF Stanelco Technologies division (RF). Overall, Group revenues came in 13% higher year-on-year (yoy) at £7m against our revised forecast of £6.9m. Full year results are expected to be announced on 29 April.

Biome Technologies delivered encouraging growth in its key Bioplastics division with revenue reaching a record 6-month high. RF Technologies is making progress in diversifying its end customer base and reported a 30% increase in revenue, albeit from a cyclically low base. Cash resources have been boosted by the recent issue of CLNs, however, our P&L forecasts remain cautious given the volatility of markets and as a consequence we make no significant changes to our FY23 expectations at this stage

Biome Technologies has announced a half year trading update which we believe to show an encouraging growth profile for Bioplastics and steady revenue generation at RF Technologies. The Board continues to expect the Group full year outcome to be in line with market expectations.

Biome Technologies Update & fundraise

Biome has announced that it has conditionally raised £850,000 by way of a Convertible Loan Note fundraise. In the three months to September 2022, Biome Technologies (Biome) reported revenues of £1.9m, 77% ahead of the comparative period with both Bioplastics and the RF division contributing to the growth. Cognisant of the need to adjust market guidance downward in each of the past two years the Board has resolved to revise its forecasting methodology to a more prudent basis. This has led to a modest reduction in our revenue forecast for 2022, although EBITDA and year-end cash remain unchanged.
