Of this total, $311m is a fine that is overwhelmingly going to the State of California and $280m is going to the owners of the diesel cars. In addition, FCA is recalling 104k vehicles to garages to equip them with a software update. Unlike VW, FCA has not admitted any intentional wrongdoing.
