BATM Advanced Communications Ltd's (LON:BVC) chief executive Zvi Marom talks to Proactive London after announcing that it developed a new method for the rapid and diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB).
A person who is suspected of having this disease can be tested in a matter of half an hour according the Marom. The PCR test diagnoses if someone is infected with TB and, if they test positive, the NATlab system is used to identify the strain of TB and its resistance to antibiotics.
The testing and validation phase will be fully funded under a programme of the Stop TB Partnership and is expected to commence in the second half of this year.
