Michael Laurier at Symphony Environmental Technologies PLC (LON:SYM) says there has been a marked change of attitude towards biodegradable plastic following the COVID-19 outbreak. Governments have to use plastic for PPE, so are looking at alternatives to banning its use he says. That has meant Symphony and its technology getting access to decision-makers at governments all over the world, he told Proactive. In addition, tests are underway for its anti-microbial bread packaging in the US, while demand for gloves and other items using the same technology is growing fast. If (or when) this interest translates into orders and revenues it will be transformational, says Laurier, as these are ‘big-ticket items’.
