Tharisa PLC (LSE:THS, JSE:THA) head of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Tebogo Matsimela joined Proactive's Stephen Gunnion with news that the company has signed an agreement for the development of a solar power plant to supply power to its Tharisa Mine in South Africa.
Matsimela telling Proactive that the platinum group metals and chrome producer has signed a comprehensive memorandum of understanding (MoU) with renewable energy producer Total Eren and Chariot Ltd (AIM:CHAR, OTC:OIGLF).
He added that the agreement will help Tharisa meet its pledge to reduce carbon emissions by 30% by 2030 and be carbon net neutral by 2050.
