Shareholders take a victorious breath, yet challenges remain
After months of campaigning, Capricorn shareholders have managed to bring about the first steps towards a new board. They have also gained a likely negotiating position in the merger with NewMed Energy, increasing the likelihood of a failure of the merger if NewMed does not offer further incentives to shareholders. The change of board will certainly refresh the company but shareholders should focus on its long-term viability rather than short-term returns.
