1spatial (LON: SPA) has today announced it has won two contracts in the US - one with the US Federal Highways Association (FHWA) and a second with the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The Group, who help organisations manage geospatial, spatial, and GIS data information & intelligence, won two US contracts earlier in the year with the State of Nebraska and the State of Arizona.
The deal with the FWHA means 1spatial will provide its geospatial data software and consultancy services to help the organisation collect big data. This will be fed into the National Data Inventory which is used to "determine the extent, usage, condition and performance of the Nation's highways."
The initial one-year FWHA contract is worth $339k, and if extended could be worth up to $540k.
The second stateside deal with NOAA, who is a bureau of the U.S Dept. of Commerce, will provide the organisation with "commercial off the shelf (COTS) Enterprise software" to "collate various charts and historical data from across NOAA to achieve a true electronic nautical contiguous single map."
The initial contract value is $127k for software and services, plus ongoing $16k per year support and maintenance for four option years.
Today's announcement "demonstrates that our US business is gaining momentum" in the "key growth target market," Management said.
Shares in the Cambridge-based Group jumped 3% with the announcement.
The Group is valued at c. £30m, with FY17 proving a difficult year, reporting revenue of £22m and an operating loss of £18m. Consensus forecasts flat revenue growth for FY18 with an operating loss of £1m.
