Maersk Line has officially informed its customers about the introduction of an ‘Emergency Bunker Surcharge’ (EBS) for all cargo in the world as from 1 June 2018 for non-FMC corridors and 1 July 2018 for FMC corridors in order to offset the impact of the surge in bunker prices, which have been higher than expected since the beginning of 2018.
