What you need to know:
• FRG announced results of new Re-Os ages and geochemical findings at the Alotta Project in the Yukon.
• The analysis confirms a Late Cretaceous age for porphyry mineralization, which is consistent with all major porphyry and epithermal deposits in the Dawson Range Gold belt, including the Casino Project.
• The 2026 exploration program at Alotta is expected to commence in Q2.
• Ramp development at La Estrella continues to advance towards the planned crosscut with first coal expected imminently (see here).
This morning, Forge Resources Corp. (FRG:CSE, FRGGF:OTC) announced the results of new Re-Os ages and geochemical findings at the Alotta Project, Yukon. The analysis of Re-Os of molybdenite confirms a Late Cretaceous age for porphyry mineralization, which is consistent with major porphyry and epithermal deposits in the Dawson Range Gold Belt, including Western Copper and Gold’s Casino deposit (WRN:TSX, mkt cap ~$850M). On April 23rd, FRG provided an update on the La Estrella coal project in Colombia, read more below. We are maintaining our BUY rating and target price of $1.20/share on Forge Resources.
The molybdenite dating at the Alotta Project (~73 Ma) closely aligns with the timing of the Casino Cu-Au deposit (~74 Ma), indicating a similar mineralizing event. Re-Os results are also consistent with other significant Late Cretaceous deposits across the Dawson Range Gold Belt. Supporting this, geochemical analyses indicate that the system formed under comparable oxidizing conditions, reinforcing the view that Alotta developed within a similar geological environment. Management believes that this confirms the project is capable of hosting meaningful copper-gold mineralization, with 2026 expected to be a key year for exploration at the project. We expect the Company to report a target derivation and exploration plan for 2026 at Alotta.
La Estrella Refresh – April 23rd Update
On April 23rd, FRG updated investors on its 80%-owned La Estrella coal project in Santander, Colombia. Ramp development is progressing toward the planned horizontal crosscut to the coal seams, with re-intersected coal seams supporting the geological model. Additional ground support (resin injection, self-drilling bolts, and counter-lock supports within a steel arch system) has been deployed to manage challenging ground conditions. Lab results qualify the coal product for both metallurgical blending and premium thermal markets. In addition to the ongoing development, FRG closed the first tranche of its financing for ~$3.3M and is pursuing a second closing of up to $4.0M in flow-through units to fund the 2026 Alotta program and continued La Estrella development. First coal from the bulk sample remains imminent. For more details, read our note here.
