Invinity Energy Systems has confirmed completion of delivery of its 20.7 MWh Vanadium Flow Battery (VFB) system at the Copwood VFB Energy Hub in East Sussex, marking a material commercial and technical milestone for the company and the UK's wider long-duration energy storage (LDES) build-out. Once commissioned, the system, paired with a 3 MWp on-site solar array, will be Europe's largest operational VFB and a UK first at this scale, with storage capacity broadly equivalent to the daily electricity needs of c.3,000 homes. The project lands at an opportune moment ahead of an expected announcement on Ofgem's LDES Cap and Floor scheme, which could catalyse a number of similar projects.
