Tesco announced a lfl sales improvement of 0.4% for the 19 weeks to 9 January 2016 after a modest Q3 (-0.5% lfl). Volumes and transactions increased by 3.5% and 3.4% respectively, increasing the UK market’s 19W sales by 1.3% lfl. The Christmas performance was also strong in the international business (+4.1% lfl).
