SAE has announced a further CFD award for its MeyGen tidal energy project in Scotland in the UK government’s recent AR6 allocation round. The award is for capacity of c.9MW of tidal energy at a price of £172/MWH in (2012 prices). This now takes secured CFD support for the next phase of MeyGen to 59MW, with the balance won in previous allocation rounds (28MW at £235/MWH and 22MW at £258/MWH, again all 2012 prices), all providing a strong underpinning for expansion of the project beyond its existi ....
