Early funding in the form of a £8.5m loan ahead of financial close on the AW1 battery energy storage system (BESS) project will create greater certainty on securing critical components. Financial close is now expected in the next few months and we see this new loan as providing a key element of de-risking adding to the recent win in the Capacity Market auction.
