Renold reported FY16 PBT and EPS in line with expectations, with an 8% decline in PBT representing a strong performance given a 9% fall in sales and the group’s typical operational gearing. Management remains focused on self-help to drive profitability and growth, building on the already impressive progress achieved over the last three years. This should help to offset the continued weak industrial backdrop in FY17 and position the group for strong profit growth when market conditions improve. Multiples remain undemanding and we reiterate our Buy recommendation.
