Itaconix and Nouryon have mutually agreed to terminate their agreement for the distribution of Itaconix polymers in detergent applications. Prior to initiating the purchase and resale of Itaconix polymers, the companies concluded that the distribution arrangement was not mutually attractive for advancing Itaconix’ pipeline of customer opportunities. The year-end trading update last week confirmed the pipeline continues to strengthen and that management remains focused on accelerating key revenue opportunities in the first half of 2020. Of the £1.1m revenue generated in 2019, £0.7m related to direct sales by Itaconix to detergent producers (68% of total revenues and 37% growth YOY). Today’s statement confirms that current detergent revenues and prospects for future revenues from the project pipeline are not affected by the termination of the Nouryon agreement and management remains confident in generating continued success in their direct sales efforts for detergent polymers in 2020 and beyond.
