Europa Oil & Gas CEO Will Holland talked with Proactive about the company’s operational plans for 2025. He outlined key developments across its assets, including the Equatorial Guinea EG08 prospect, Ireland’s Inishkea gas project, and the UK’s Wressle and Cloughton sites.
Holland highlighted Europa’s focus on securing a farm-in partner for the Barracuda prospect within its Equatorial Guinea license, which contains an estimated 2.2 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas. He noted that Barracuda is located just nine kilometres from existing infrastructure, making it an attractive opportunity. He stated, “Watch this space, hopefully within the next six months we will have something that we can come out and announce.”
Discussing Inishkea, Holland pointed to recent political changes in Ireland as a potential catalyst for progress. The newly formed coalition government, he said, is prioritising energy security, which could lead to a more supportive stance for domestic gas production.
On the UK front, Europa is advancing Wressle, where it expects imminent approval for a two-well development program, including a gas monetisation project. Meanwhile, the company is progressing plans for Cloughton, a 192 billion cubic feet (BCF) gas asset, with a well targeted for 2026.
Holland also revealed that Europa continues to assess new opportunities, particularly in West Africa, where the company has significant expertise. However, he stressed that any new ventures must be financially viable and add value for shareholders.
