The FTSE 100 looks set to enter the bank holiday weekend on the front foot after making a solid start this morning.
An hour into trade, London's blue-chip index is up 33 points at 8,772. That's a gain of of just over a third of a percent (0.38%).
Top of the leaderboard this morning are easyJet PLC (LSE:EZJ), Anglo American PLC (LSE:AAL) and Melrose Industries PLC (LSE:MRO, OTC:MLSPF).
Antofagasta PLC (LSE:ANTO) and Endeavour Mining PLC (LSE:EDV, TSX:EDV, OTCQX:EDVMF) are also doing well, up more than 1%, as gold also gained over 1% to $3,330.88 due to the market uncertainty.
AJ Bell PLC (LSE:AJB)'s shares jumped close to 10% in early trade after posting strong half-year results, with revenue up 17% to £153.2 million and profit before tax rising 12% to £68.8 million.
Games Workshop Group PLC (LSE:GAW) is down over 3%. The owner and licensor of the Warhammer tabletop game said full-year core revenue should hit at least £560 million, while licensing brought in a record £50 million—though the company doesn’t expect to repeat that figure in the coming year.
