The FTSE 100 fell in early trading, continuing the selling trend from yesterday as the threat of US President Donald Trump's tariffs continues to spook investors, with the Nasdaq suffering its worst day since 2022.
Shortly after the open, the blue-chip index was down 19 points or 0.2% to 8,581.4.
Investment trusts with lots of big US tech companies followed suit, including Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust PLC and F&C Investment Trust PLC.
Persimmon PLC shares are up 3.5% after the housebuilder beat city forecasts or its 2024 calendar year results.
The FTSE 100-listed group delivered 10,664 homes in the year, up 7% from the prior year.

While revenue was down 16% year-on-year, the group said the turnaround of Debenhams, acquired in 2021, has been "completed."
