Rainbow Rare Earths Ltd (LSE:RBW, OTC:RBWRF) CEO George Bennett speaks to Thomas Warner from Proactive after the magnet rare earth metals company published an update on its pilot plant operations in South Africa and Florida.
Bennett highlights key achievements, including the success of pilot plant operations in South Africa, producing a superior carbonate mixture by removing cerium, which enhances the feed for the back-end processing in Florida. This progress has enabled continuous process operations in Florida for final separation.
Bennett says that five batches have already been shipped to Florida, facilitating continuous pilot plant operations. The results so far align with expectations, setting the stage for receiving final separated oxides soon.
Despite minor delays due to transitioning from sulphate to carbonate and mechanical issues at K-Tech, Bennett remains positive, with the project back on track for this quarter.
Looking ahead, Bennett anticipates further encouraging news and says that his hopes for 2024 include completing their definitive feasibility study, making significant progress in their Brazil project with Mosaic, and securing financing for their South African operations.
