Broadcaster STV's (LON:STVG) Simon Pitts talks to Proactive London's Katie Pilbeam about the challenges of Covid-19, in which they have 'survived and thrived'. The channel has enjoyed 'record ratings' with TV audience figures up 13% on TV and over 80% online.
He says this isn't all down to lockdown but that 'people also need respite and escapism to take their mind off things'. Thanks to acting 'swiftly' by raising money back in June to give the 'headroom to keep investing in our strategy and keep diversifying our business'.
Pitts praises some of the most popular products which include Scotland's most successful production company as well as their shows including 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' and Des with David Tennett.
He says 'TV advertising really works, it's the best way to build your brand, it's the most trusted way.'
