Symphony Environment Technologies PLC’s (LON:SYM) chief executive Michael Laurier says demand for its anti-microbial gloves and face masks has soared due to coronavirus.
The impact of the outbreak has raised awareness both of the technology and its potential for use in water pipes, gloves and other finished products.
Studies are underway to see how the technology can perform against a range of viruses and Laurier says it will start to test specifically against COVID-19 as soon as lab space becomes available.
Symphony is celebrating 25 years since it was formed and Laurier added it made a good start to the current year as the need for biodegradable plastics also becomes more widely recognised.
