We launch our Market Screener, which will be focusing on LSE AIM companies. We plan to reflect on the drivers behind the performance of relatively scarcely covered stocks. AIM has 835 officially listed stocks with an aggregate market capitalization of £100.2bn as of 6 Dec 2022. Around 58% of AIM stocks have a market capitalization below £50mn, including 32% of all stocks below £15mn MktCap. The largest industries represented on AIM are Industrials (19% in cumulative market cap), Healthcare (15%), Financials (11%), and Consumer (15%). AIM has a lower share of commodity-driven Basic Materials and Energy segments in total Market cap: 17% for AIM vs 23% for FTSE 350. Small Caps traded on AIM are relatively poorly covered as only 54% of all companies are officially rated at least by one analyst, according to Refinitiv, and 46% do not have recommendations at all. However, some companies are covered by their NOMADs and independent research houses. Our Market Screener will screen companies traded from AIM to get a reference for their valuation, market trends, and performance.
