Ampeak’s 250MW AW2 project at the Uskmouth Sustainable Energy Park has received planning permission from Newport Council. Ampeak and partner Econergy will now work towards financial close of the project. Whilst the permission has conditions (including the removal of 140k tonnes of historic pulverised stored ash), in an environment where BESS planning permissions are getting increasingly difficult, it appears the Uskmouth site is now well proven and achieving planning at further projects on the site ought to be viewed with higher confidence.
