Scotland’s only quoted housebuilder Springfield Properties (SPR) last December issued a strong first half trading update. While Alastair Stewart at Progressive Research is looking for further growth acceleration in H2 from the group.
The investment that Image Scan Holdings (IGE) has made in product development, alongside sales and marketing, particularly into North America, bodes well for the business as normality returns. That is the view of WH Ireland analysts Matthew Davis and John Cummins.

Analyst Hugo Paternoster at AlphaValue Research reckoned that the Q3 Trading Update from BAE Systems (BA.) was ‘fairly reassuring’. Enough, it seems, for him to rate the shares as a Buy, offering a 7.3% upside. He noted that demand had remained high across all of the group’s major markets, which fuelled its backlog.
In mid-January Genus (GNS) issued a trading update flagging a continuation of the strong operating performance as highlighted at last November’s AGM. Analyst Alistair Campbell at Liberum Capital rated the group as able to offer double digits upside and raised his Target Price after the excellent H1 update.
VSA Capital presented a podcast with Ricardo (RCDO) CEO Dave Shemmans earlier this month following news that he is stepping down from that role later this year. Analyst Ryan Gregory at Liberum Capital concludes that the group’s H1 trading was in line with expectations, whilst cashflow stood out after a strong 2020 performance. The group is one of Zeus Capital’s Top Picks for 2021, considering that its shares look better value than for some years.
Early last December analyst Mike Allen at Zeus Capital upgraded his forecasts for distribution group Inchcape (INCH), following a Trading Update. He was confident in the group’s long-term investment case as a unique and attractive cash generative model.
