GMP FirstEnergy analyst awarded top Energy stock picker in Thomson Reuters Awards (StarMine)
Companies: Tullow Oil plc
We're delighted to announce that one of the top analysts on our platform, GMP FirstEnergy's Stephane Foucaud, has been named the UK and Ireland's Top Stock Picker for Energy in the 2017 Thomson Reuters Analyst Awards (StarMine).
In a period of turbulence and uncertainty for the O&G sector, the award highlights the quality of Stephane's work and how the views of a sector specialist analyst can make a significant difference to investment decisions.
The Thomson Reuters Analyst Awards (previously known as the StarMine awards) are the most significant analyst rankings in the City of London, and are gloablly recognised as the gold standard in objective measurement of sell-side research.
They measure performance based on returns of the analyst's recommendations relative to industry benchmarks and accuracy of earnings estimates/forecasts. They are often also used by buy-side firms to identify the leading analysts from the sell-side.
Much of Mr Foucaud's work can be found on Research Tree, giving private investors access to the best equity research and valuations in the Energy sector in the UK.
GMP FirstEnergy said:
"...we look forward to an ongoing revival in the international oil & gas sector... we will continue to lean on the quality of Stephane’s research to provide our specialist advice to both institutional and corporate clients alike."
The award follows a successful start to the year for GMP which has seen the firm advise Ithaca Energy on its takeover by the Delek Group, Oranje-Nassau Energie on its purchase of the UK and Netherlands business of Sterling Resources, and SDX Energy on its acquisition of the Morocco and Egypt businesses of Circle Oil.
