Following last week’s news of Goliath solid-state-battery (‘SSB’) prototype shipments to tier-1 EV partners, Ilika has followed it up with further positive news that its high-value, micro SSB Stereax product class for use in active implantable medical devices (‘AIMDs’) is also well on track. Prototype batch shipments, via its sector-leading, strategic US device manufacturing partner Cirtec Medic Corp, have been delivered to the 21 customers comprising Ilika’s order book for advanced evaluation, data generation and feedback, across a number of fields including orthopaedic implants, orthodontics and ophthalmology, ahead of ramping production. This marks an important commercial milestone in Ilika’s 10 yr manufacturing agreement signed with Cirtec in 2023 and the announcement is further evidence that Ilika continues to perform as a flagship for the UK in the next-gen battery industry.
