A forced delay on repayment of the Abundance debentures follows from delays in the reinstallation of turbines at the MeyGen site in northern Scotland. These should generate cash once in the water and the recent Scottish Enterprise loan ensures that their reinstallation is funded. With two turbines already in the water some positive cash flow can be expected and the company should be able to build its financial position as a result. But today’s announcement shows that the situation is far from stable and while there is opportunity to further improve the situation there is risk as well.
