SAE has announced the award of a capacity contract for the company’s planned AW1 120MW BESS project at its Uskmouth site in Wales. The contract will pay £60/KW/year for a 15-year period. Capacity market payments are made to electricity market actors in exchange for providing a reliable source of supply, and this contract provides an important source of revenues for AW1, alongside the power trading revenues also expected to be realised by the project.
