Another difficult week for equities in the period to 19 January. The FTSE All Share fell -1.4% vs. +1.1% for the Insurance Index, whilst the Lloyd’s Index fell -2.9%. The best performer of the week was Novae (-1.6%); JLT was the worst performer (-5.7%). We look at the Lloyd’s market capacity for 2016. Despite ongoing rate softening, underwriting capacity rose 5.1% YoY to £27.7bn. Beazley is now the 2nd largest capacity provider followed by Hiscox (4th), Novae (11th) and Lanc
