Global concerns (China, oil etc) affected equities in the week to 12 January. The FTSE All Share fell -3.3% vs. -2.1% for the Insurance Index, whilst the Lloyd’s Index fell -0.5%. The best performer of the week was Lancashire (+1.4%); Novae was the worst performer (-6.6%). This week we look at the shift in global reinsurance capacity, which appears to have stabilised, but reflects a reduction in traditional reinsurance capital and further top line and market share growth by the ILS mark
